Job Purpose:

  Key Areas of Responsibility:

1. Manage Delivery of Finance Support

  • Scope: Provide comprehensive financial support at either a country or business line level.
  • Tasks: Prepare financial reports, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.

2. Own Delivery of Finance Activities and Programs

  • Scope: Take full responsibility for the execution and delivery of various finance-related activities and programs.
  • Tasks: Implement financial strategies, manage budgets, and oversee financial planning and analysis.

3. Operate Independently

  • Scope: Work autonomously, handling tasks and making decisions without constant supervision.
  • Tasks: Resolve financial issues, conduct audits, and ensure accurate financial reporting, escalating only the most complex issues to higher management.

4. Act as a Finance Specialist

  • Scope: Serve as an expert in a specific technical area of finance.
  • Tasks: Provide specialist advice, lead projects, and offer insights on financial matters within your area of expertise.

5. Collaborate with Management

  • Scope: Work closely with management to align financial support with business priorities.
  • Tasks: Understand business goals, tailor financial strategies to meet local requirements, and support decision-making processes.

6. Review Finance Policies and Processes

  • Scope: Regularly evaluate existing finance policies and processes.
  • Tasks: Identify areas for improvement, recommend changes, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

7. Manage Delivery of Finance Services

  • Scope: Oversee the provision of finance services within the constraints of the departmental budget.
  • Tasks: Ensure cost-effective delivery of services, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource allocation.

Minimum Criteria and Competencies

  • Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data, interpret trends, and provide insights.
  • Accounting: Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Proficiency in creating and managing budgets, as well as forecasting future financial performance.
  • Financial Reporting: Expertise in preparing accurate financial reports and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Project Management: Skills in managing finance-related projects from inception to completion.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in handling financial data and ensuring accuracy in reports and analyses.
  • Critical Thinking: Capability to evaluate complex financial scenarios and make informed decisions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and management.
  • Leadership: Skills in mentoring junior staff and leading finance projects.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Data Analysis Tools: Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
